You need to centralise your information, but you also
need to share it. This solution allows you to exchange
information with your employees via an internal email
system, an internal web server, or a groupware suite.
A Linux machine is configured to be the server that
handles business information in an environment of either
homogeneous or mixed computing platforms. This machine
serves Windows, Mac, or Unix client machines as file
server, printer server, mail server, internal Web server,
and news server.

| File server -
The files of Windows and Unix users are centrally
stored on the Linux machine. |
| Printer server -
All of the Windows and Unix machines on the
network can print documents on any of the
printers connected to the network or the Linux
machine. |
| Email server - All
employees have the ability to exchange email
inside of the enterprise without needing an
Internet service provider. To send emails
to outside recipients is needed external SMTP
server as a smarthost. |
| Fax server
- All client machines
(Windows, Mac, Linux ) have the ability to
send and receive faxes . |
| Web server
- A web server can act as the "central
nervous system" of information management
in an enterprise. It is typically used for
displaying largish documents of general interest
or interfacing with a database or archives,
e.g. policy, memos, vacation schedules, catalogs,
deadlines, discussion archives, etc. |

Groupware suite -
A modular application for the coordination
of group activities and to share informations
and document via Intranet. Modules
( Group calendar, project management, time
card system, document management system,
contact manager, mail client, discussion
forum).
